“It’s a lack of clarity that creates chaos and frustration. Those emotions are poison to any living goal.”
–Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
I saw this quote recently and it reminded me when I’ve felt this. I wanted to move forward desperately but felt so stuck in all the questions, fear and doubt that I was just stuck in my tracks.
In that frustration, I reached out for support and here’s the steps I was able to use to get really clear and what to do when I’m not clear.
Step 1: Get connected to your soul’s purpose
After a lot of struggle figuring myself out, I seeked out support from others to help me get grounded on what I was here to do. What my soul’s purpose was here to do in the world.
Interestingly, I felt it in my heart already but I felt confusion as to how I could articulate that into the world and actually do it. I didn’t exactly trust it at first because I didn’t see evidence in how I could lay out a plan…it felt so big.
Whether you know already what you are here to do in the world – your soul’s calling or purpose, OR if you are ready to take the space to connect to it. It will always guide you if stay grounded in it.
Step 2: Craft your vision and goals that are in alignment
I realized I was here to teach the powerful things I had figured out for myself in my own journey. It’s why my brand is called Your Dream Launch. I had a dream since age 5 to create a business helping others in creating a happy life. I sure didn’t know what that meant exactly but continued to hold that dream as I tried to figure out how to do it for many years.
I finally got to a place where I couldn’t keep going as an employee anymore, I was ready to leap for my dream to create my business and use what I knew – I had a love for marketing and business development…helping others create their dreams and launching them into the world. So I finally took the leap and continued taking steps towards this vision.
Take a few minutes to journal about your vision, what is it? What have you always dreamed of?
Then, chunk it out into goals to move towards it over the next 90-days, 6-months or 12 months.
Step 3: Get the support and/or resources to move forward
Once, I had my clear purpose, vision and goals, it made it VERY powerful for me to be supported in mentorship and implementation. I could easily discern the advice that I was being given as to whether it would get me closer to my vision and goals or take me away. I think it makes it much more powerful to work together. My mentor doesn’t tell me what to do, she offers guidance based on my goals and what she has already navigated that she could teach me to speed up the path I’ve chosen to take. From this place I can take full responsibility of my actions and results.
Having the support and resources to move in the direction of your vision only speeds up the path for you. It’s like taking plane versus a car in the direction you are headed. The key is to take the time to make a match with the right support/resources for where you are and where you want to go – that comes from you.
Step 4: Take inspired action consistently
Next, its up to you to take inspired action consistently. I use the word inspired because for me its something I feel in my body when I’m on the right track. I feel a surge of energy and I’m inspired to take the action when its right…it means I’m in total alignment with it.
On the other hand, if it feels heavy and confusing, it’s likely I need to spend a bit of time discerning if the action is right and if it is, I can delegate it if it still feels heavy…it just means its not one of my gifts. Now, if it feels heavy because I’m forcing something or out of fear in choosing that action as if I think it’s the only way – then I have an opportunity to check in and make a different choice.
The key that I’ve found is to keep taking baby steps in the direction of my desires…that’s what makes the journey beautiful on the way. You can feel good that you will get there, you can feel good that you are paying attention to the signals that indicate you are on the right track and pour your energy into the present moment to enjoy the journey.
Step 5: Stay connected to your inner guidance
I’ve realized now, that if I am not clear about something, it’s usually because I haven’t spent the time in meditation to understand what I’m feeling means.
I’ve learned that your inner guidance is like your GPS toward your heart’s desires. When you desire something you feel an emotion that sends out a signal and you vibrate in a way that brings you the match to that emotion. This is why it’s so powerful to visualize because of the powerful emotions/vibration it creates to bring it forth.
Your inner guidance is THE guidance that supports you having what it is that you desire. When you pay attention to it daily, it will always lead you to the most powerful thing you can do in that moment – and sometimes its to do nothing. To take space to slow down and course correct, or to slow down enough to hear the guidance.
I invite you to take a few minutes today to listen to your own inner guidance. It’s already speaking to you so take a minute to discern the message. I can bet you will get the clarity you are seeking to move forward with.
