Today’s guest, Christie Miller is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and her zest for life and success will grab you right away. Though she’s a highly successful fitness and wellness coach, she’s more concerned with being happy than being perfect which is a lesson she shares on this episode.
That attitude has lead her to transform her life: from 28 pounds overweight, no energy, and no direction to a fit and fabulous health coach, Christie’s got the personal track record that demonstrates that she can help you. She turned it around in her 40s and has developed a simple, step by step program to help women entrepreneurs get their health under control and their life on track.
Set aside some “you time” to listen to Christie’s story and catch some tips that can help you start on the path toward better health and increased energy by listening to this episode.
The 80/20 rule in your diet.
When most women think of “going on a diet,” extremes typically come to mind. Very small portions. No exceptions to the tasteless food they have to endure. Very little joy in eating. But Christie Miller doesn’t think of it that way and she never coaches her clients to approach dieting and fitness that way either.
For her, it all begins with mindset. When you think rightly about health and fitness, the rest follows naturally and you can move forward.
One of her powerful mindset has to do with the 80/20 rule, where she says you should focus on eating healthy (she helps you define that) 80% of the time. The other 20% will have little impact on you in that case, and you’ll be making gains every day through your 80% efforts. Find out more about how Christie teaches this, on this episode of New SuperWoman Entrepreneur.
Getting fitness into every day, it’s not that hard.
One of the biggest hurdles to everyday fitness is blocking out the time for it. Rising early, going to the gym, working with the equipment. Every step along that path throws up obstacles you have to overcome.
What if you could think about your life in a way that enabled you to fit your fitness into the things you’re doing daily anyway?
That’s a huge piece of what Christie Miller teaches. For example, if you’ve got an in-person meeting scheduled today, why not make it a “walking meeting” where you can discuss things as you walk down a greenbelt or in a nearby park? When you’re waiting for copies to print, why not drop and do a plank as you wait? There are hundreds of opportunities you can find to work fitness into your daily life if you simply adjust your mindset to look for them. Hear more tips like these on this episode.
You are only as strong as your weakest link.
That’s the piece of advice Christie Miller says was the most significant thing she’s ever been counseled. It came from her Dad and has served her well over many years. What it means to her is that in her life, she’s got to always be aware of the things that are slowing her down and doing what she can to improve them. Those “weakest links” will be the things that hold her back from her next natural step forward, in life and in business. Christie’s got tons of great stuff to share along that line in this episode of New SuperWoman Entrepreneur, so make sure you set aside some time to invest in yourself and listen to what she’s got to share.
Hire the most expensive mentor you cannot afford.
That could sound like business suicide to you, but Christie Miller believes it’s one of the most effective ways you can put yourself both in an accountable relationship and turn on the pressure to take action on the things you’re being coached to do.
She’s done this for many years and has discovered that the financial expense is something she doesn’t want to waste, which translates into her taking her coach’s advice seriously and moving to get it implemented or accomplished. That keeps her moving ahead and her business always ramping up to the next level. To her, if you see it as an important thing, you’ll find a way to pay for it. It’s all right here, on this episode.
